Latent Ventures LLC, operating as UnaFonte ("we," "us," or "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our identity verification platform and related services (the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account Registration: Email address, username, and password when you create an account.
- Identity Verification: Government-issued ID and selfie photo, processed through Stripe Identity. We do not store your government ID documents directly; they are processed and stored by Stripe.
- Creator Profile Information: Display name, bio, profile image, and any other information you choose to add to your public profile.
- Wallet Verification Data: Public wallet addresses for Ethereum, Bitcoin, or Solana that you choose to verify and link to your profile.
- Active Ledger Entries: Information about giveaways, partnerships, promotions, appearances, and other activities you post to your Active Ledger.
- Trust Request Data: Questions, context URLs, uploaded media (screenshots, videos, PDFs), and responses related to Trust Requests.
- Communications: Any messages or information you provide when contacting us for support or feedback.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, actions taken, timestamps, and referring URLs.
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, IP address, and device identifiers.
- API Usage Data: Queries made to our verification API and MCP server, including timestamps and query content.
- Cookies: We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. See our Cookie Policy for details.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Stripe Identity: Verification status, verified legal name, and country of residence from government ID verification.
- Payment Processors: Transaction details, payment status, and limited billing information through Stripe.
Note: Wallet verification is performed entirely client-side through cryptographic signature verification. We only store the public wallet address and verification status — we never have access to your private keys or seed phrases.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Service Delivery: To provide, maintain, and improve the UnaFonte platform, including identity verification, Active Ledger management, and Trust Request processing.
- Identity Verification: To verify your identity through government ID verification and to display your verification status on your public profile.
- Authentication and Security: To authenticate your account, prevent fraud, and protect against unauthorized access.
- Platform Improvement: To analyze usage patterns, troubleshoot issues, and improve our services.
- Communications: To send you transactional emails (Trust Request notifications, verification updates), and optional product updates and weekly summaries based on your notification preferences.
- Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.
3. How We Share Your Information
3.1 Public Information
The following information is publicly accessible by design, as the core purpose of UnaFonte is to provide a public source of truth:
- Your username, display name (based on your display preference), and verification status.
- Linked social accounts, verified domains, and verified wallet addresses.
- Active Ledger entries and NOT ME rules.
- Trust Request resolutions (confirming or denying content authenticity).
Note: Wallet addresses are inherently public on their respective blockchains. By linking a wallet to your UnaFonte profile, you are associating your verified identity with that public address.
3.2 Third-Party Service Providers
We share information with the following service providers who assist in operating our platform:
- Stripe Identity: Government ID and selfie for identity verification.
- Payment Processors: Stripe for payment processing, subscription management, and authorization holds for Trust Requests.
- Infrastructure Providers: Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting), and Resend (transactional email).
Note: Wallet verification does not involve sharing your data with any third-party service. The cryptographic verification is performed entirely within your browser.
3.3 Other Disclosures
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation.
- Safety and Rights: We may share information to protect the rights, property, or safety of UnaFonte, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy:
- Account Data: Retained for the duration of your account. Upon account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days, except as required for legal compliance.
- Verification Status: Your verification status and verified name are retained for the life of your account. Government ID documents are retained by Stripe according to their retention policy.
- Wallet Addresses: Retained for the life of your account or until you unlink the wallet. Note that blockchain transactions are permanent and cannot be deleted.
- Active Ledger Entries: Retained indefinitely as part of the public record, even after expiration. Entries may be cancelled but are not deleted.
- Trust Request Records: Retained for a minimum of 3 years for dispute resolution and legal compliance. Associated media files are deleted 30 days after request resolution.
- Government ID Documents: We do not store government ID documents directly. These are processed and stored by Stripe Identity in accordance with their data retention policies.
5. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Data Portability: Request a machine-readable export of your data.
- Opt-Out: Manage your notification preferences in your account settings to control which emails you receive.
- Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time.
- Unlink Wallets: Remove linked wallet addresses from your profile at any time through your account settings.

6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest.
- API keys are hashed with SHA-256 and never stored in plain text.
- Row Level Security (RLS) policies on database tables to ensure users can only access their own data.
- Private storage buckets with signed URLs for Trust Request media files.
- Regular security reviews and monitoring of access logs.
- Wallet private keys and seed phrases are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. We use service providers located in the United States and other jurisdictions. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border data transfers in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
8. Children's Privacy
UnaFonte is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
